Using the Personal VPN

The Personal VPN should be used if you don't have a corporate VPN, but want to create a highly secure connection through the air and through the local network node.

The Personal VPN creates an encrypted tunnel from your PC to the Boingo data center. This means that the broadcast transmission from your Wi-Fi card to the location access point is secure, as well as the connection through the gateway and servers at the location from which you're accessing Boingo Wireless.

To connect to the Personal VPN :

1.	Connect to Boingo, or another signal of your choosing.

2.	Push the Connect button in the Personal VPN portion of the My VPN screen (Profiles -> My VPN)

3.	When the blue VPN lock icon appears, the VPN connection has been successful, and your connection is secure.

   
NOTE: If you want a secure connection every time you connect to a Boingo Wireless signal, then select the checkbox marked, Always activate when connecting to Boingo signals. Whenever you login to a Boingo signal as a Boingo customer the application will automatically make a VPN connection to secure the line.
